Is Switchgrass Yield Response to Nitrogen Fertilizer Dynamic? Implications for Profitability and Sustainability at the Farm Level

Abstract

This paper tests the hypothesis that switchgrass yield response to nitrogen fertilizer is dynamic. Yield and weather data from a five-year experiment in western Tennessee are used. Implications of such a finding on the profitability and sustainability of switchgrass production at the farm level are discussed.
