Abstract

Benefits from adoption of BMPs are not fully captured by farmers, so sub-optimal levels of adoption occur. Since BMPs may reduce profitability, it may be necessary I to provide farmers additional economic incentives. This study suggests insuring farm revenue or profit against loss due to BMP adoption as an incentive.
