Potenziale erneuerbarer Energien einer deutschen Mittelgebirgsregion: Das Beispiel des Biosphärenreservats Bliesgau/Saarland

Abstract

Eine Vielzahl von Gemeinden strebt - als Beitrag zu einer nachhaltigen Regionalentwicklung - ein Nullemissionsziel an. Am Beispiel der Biosphärenregion Bliesgau im südwestlichen Saarland wird das aktuelle Potenzial erneuerbarer Energien dem aktuellen Energiebedarf gegenübergestellt und - unter Berücksichtigung der demographischen Entwicklung - für das Jahr 2050 prognostiziert. Es zeigt sich, dass momentan ein Nullemissionsziel nicht erreichbar wäre, im Jahre 2050 jedoch dieses Ziel eingehalten werden könnte. Dies ist zum einen durch die Zielerreichung von Effizienzmaßnahmen, zum anderen durch einen deutlichen Bevölkerungsrückgang möglich. Hauptenergieträger wäre hierbei neben Wind- und Solar- die geothermische Energie.
