Egyetemek a regionális fejlődés szolgálatában

Abstract

Az egyetemek regionális fejlesztési szerepe kapcsán könyvtárnyi szakirodalom áll már rendelkezésünkre, aminek több következménye is van. Egyrészt a téma szerteágazó jellegéből fakadóan még mindig vannak kevéssé feltárt irányok, kiaknázatlan kutatási lehetőségek, másrészt viszont a területtel éppen csak ismerkedni kezdők számára ijesztő lehet a kissé nehezen áttekinthető irányzatok, megközelítések sokasága. E cikk célja, hogy az egyetemek regionális fejlesztési szerepének vállalásába nyújtson betekintést, egy olyan területbe, amely a kezdetektől jelen volt Varga Attila munkásságában, aki a regionális tudományok legmagasabb szintű művelése mellett az iskolateremtést, a fiatal kutatók támogatását, mentorálását is odaadó lelkesedéssel, hivatástudattal végezte, és fontosnak tartotta a tudományos eredmények társadalmasítását is. Ennek szellemében írásunk kezdeti iránytűként, áttekintő térképként kíván szolgálni a területtel ismerkedők számára, legyenek azok tudományos kutatók vagy a terület iránt érdeklődő szakmán kívüliek.
