Abstract

This article sets out to study the reality of interfirm cooperation by examining its very core – verbal interaction between employees operating within heterogeneous working groups, as part of partnerships between furniture manufacturers and providers of logistics services in France. By analyzing a conversation between operators, the communicational approach we propose will enable us to examine the dynamics of the construction of a true collective skill and to propose concrete tools for its management. This approach provides promising managerial implications in terms of the constitution and working practices of these interorganizational groups, composed of heterogeneous elements.
