Pays-Bas : retour de la croissance

Abstract

Après avoir flirté avec la récession en 2003, les Pays-Bas ont connu un rebond de l’activité en 2004 (1,7 %) qui n’a pas été confirmé en 2005 (0,9 %). Cette contre-performance doit être relativisée car elle est imputable à la forte contraction de l’activité au premier trimestre. Les trois trimestres suivants affichent une dynamique contraire qui procure un acquis de croissance de 1,4 % pour l’année 2006. Ce retournement s’explique par le redressement de toutes les composantes de la demande domestique et l’amélioration de la balance commerciale. Soumis à une érosion de leur pouvoir d’achat du fait de la combinaison d’une mauvaise conjoncture et d’une politique budgétaire focalisée sur la maîtrise du déficit public et de l’inflation, les ménages avaient privilégié depuis 2003 l’épargne et l’investissement dans le logement. En 2005, avec les augmentations de salaire, ils ont retrouvé le goût de consommer. [Premier paragraphe]
