Institutional and Functional Modernization of the Financial System

Abstract

This paper studies the set of economic relations, implemented at the present stage in the financial system of Russia and in its interaction with other sectors of the national economy. The main theme of the study is to characterize the current status of the financial system in two basic sections - the institutional and functional. The ultimate goal is scientific justification directions of modernization of the sector of financial intermediation to achieve social efficiency taking into account national and global best practices. The results can be used in macro-prudential regulation of banks and non-bank financial intermediaries, monitoring their performance and building a system of key performance indicators (KPI) the level of financial sector development, supervision of systemically important financial institutions, regulatory processes of capitalization and consolidation, risk management, being concentrated in parallel banking, building a system of interaction of individual segments of the financial sector, in tax policy.
