Abstract

NEMO is a new international monetary system based on monetary thermodynamics. It enables funding for neguentropic missions, which are projects that contribute to creating order and structure in our economy. Nations obtain liquidity by carrying out these missions and use this currency in the trade of goods and services that generate low entropy. To prevent a buildup of currency, NEMO proposes a monetary destruction tax on transactions that would be weighted according to ethical, social, and ecological criteria. The goal is to promote the production of virtuous goods and services while discouraging those that are harmful to the environment. Thus, NEMO aims to achieve sustainable development goals while maintaining a balance between the criteria of human society and the carrying capacity of the planet.
