[eng] Devaluation and competitivity in Côte D'Ivoire. . This paper assesses the short-run effects on competitivity and output of the 100 per cent nominal devaluation of the CFA franc. We estimate with a computable general equilibrium model the degree of the real devaluation under different assumptions concerning elasticities, public expenditures and wage indexation. The effect on output is positive, whatever the value of the elasticities. More significant is the role played by the real wage. However the mid-long run effects remain to be studied.
