Hacia el renacimiento del ALCA: el fenómeno “spaghetti bowl”

    La regionalización de la economía mundial es, paradójicamente, un corolario de la mundialización. La formación de bloques regionales pasó a ser un instrumento, un recurso de economía política en el camino hacia la inserción en una economía mundializada. Sin embargo, debe reconocerse que es posible que el impacto político-social y económico de la regionalización sea mayor en los espacios integrados por acuerdos institucionales formales que en aquellos más informales (ejemplo Asia-Pacífico), en la medida que la coordinación/regulación económica, la formulación de políticas públicas supranacionales comunes y la aplicación de aranceles externos comunes, tienden a fortalecer las interacciones dentro del espacio regional, vis-a-vis las interacciones globales.
