Abstract

The material was prepared on the basis of the annual review of the Institute for the Economy in Transition (IET) "The Russian economy in 2005. Trends and Perspectives "(Issue 27), the formation of which is currently being finalized. The review does not simply summarizes the monthly monitoring of the development of the economy, carried out by the Institute, but it contains a comprehensive analysis of a wide range of the main problems of development of Russian society. Over the years, there was a typical and proven its structure. Initially considered a political background of the processes occurring in the economy and especially economic policy, then offered a detailed description of the monetary and fiscal areas, including inflation, foreign exchange problems, the state budget, interbudgetary relations and sub-finance, further - the real sector of economy development of the dynamics and structure GDP to the peculiarities of the situation in the hospitality industry in this sector and in the social sphere, finally, institutional and microeconomic problems. The relevant sections are reflected the most significant changes in the economic reform. We single out the most important problems and peculiarities of the year, which are often, so to speak, cross-cutting nature with respect to the review of the structure and analyze them, as far as possible bringing the results of other studies, in addition to the IET. It should be borne in mind that in many cases we have to use the preliminary data. The magazine presentation is impossible to cover all the material review, including an extensive section on the institutional and microeconomic issues, which deserve special consideration.
