The prices of water services can be use as instruments of hydrological planning to reach Water Framework Directive environmental objectives. In this paper it is analyzed how water prices are instruments for this purpose, and it is showed its application in a prospective demand analysis, transferring to prices the cost of the water investment programs. Using different levels of price elasticity for water demand, it is predicted a yearly price increase about 2-3 % the next years, keeping actual water use levels.
