Wie wirkt das neue Ladenschlußgesetz auf den Einzelhandel? : erste Ergebnisse einer Befragung des ifo Instituts

    Eine Befragung des Einzelhandels im Juli/August 1998 ergab, daß über ein Drittel der Geschäfte am Abend und/oder am Samstag Nachmittag länger geöffnet hat als vor dem Inkrafttreten des neuen Ladenschlußgesetzes. Vor allem größere Verkaufsstellen betrachten längere Öffnungszeiten als ein wichtiges Wettbewerbsinstrument zur Erhöhung der Kundenzufriendenheit. Gut 5% der Geschäfte führen ihre Umsatzsteigerung im Jahr 1997 auf die verlängerte Dienstbereitschaft zurück. Eine Bewertung dieses Anteils muß allerdings die schwache Einzelhandelskonjunktur der letzten Jahre und die Veränderungen im Ausgabeverhalten der privaten Haushalte berücksichtigen.
