Industrie : mehr freie Kapazitäten erwartet

Die Betriebe des westdeutschen verarbeitenden Gewerbes (ohne Nahrungs- und Genußmittel) nutzten ihre Produktionsanlagen im Dezember durchschnittlich zu 86,8 %. Nach 87,2 % im September setzte sich damit der seit Ende 1990 (Dezember 90,0 %) zu beobachtende langsame Rückgang des Auslastungsgrades fort. Die Auftragsreserven reichten zuletzt noch für 2,9 Produktionsmonate,nach 3,0 Monaten im vorangegangenen September und 3,3 Monaten zum Ende des Jahres 1990. Die Produktionspläne für die kommenden Monate lassen bestenfalls Stagnation erwarten. Der Anteil der Unternehmen, die für die nächsten 12 Monate mit Überkapazitäten rechnen, hat weiter zugenommen.
