Abstract

The great progress and evolution that the oil palm industry has experienced is a fact that has led this sector to position itself as one of the most used and important crops worldwide. The expansion of these crops has caused a significant change in cultivated land, impacting both negatively and positively on biodiversity, ecosystems and the communities that inhabit them. In order to avoid deforestation, loss of fauna and flora and other social and economic problems, associations have emerged to make it possible to obtain palm oil in a sustainable way, however, its knowledge by society is, in general, quite limited. In this line, the present research work is carried out an exploratory study on the level of knowledge that the consumer has about sustainable palm oil.
