Abstract

In the current economic context, entrepreneurship is defined as an essential element for local development based on economic theory. For this, it requires the institutional platform, this being one of the determining factors for the fundamental purpose of mobilizing productivity, competitiveness and local development; since the creation of new companies or the strengthening of existing ones provide the means to reduce unemployment and create social value in a community. The objective of this study is to review the public and bibliographic documents related to the dynamics that entrepreneurship generates in the economy and the opportunities in the labor market. The documentary research comprises four phases: first, the search and selection of documents is carried out from the categories of entrepreneurship, local development and territory, in the Science Direct, Scopus, governmental and non-governmental sources databases; secondly, a comparison of the information collected is carried out; third, instruments are designed from specific categories; and, finally, a discussion is developed around the variables that allow inferring if entrepreneurship is the strategy to reduce unemployment in a territory.
