Abstract

Based on the collective thoughts of the Committee on Extension Policy and Program Framework, this monograph presents comprehensive views on challenges and opportunities to promote the extension system in the country. It focuses on the empowerment of farming communities through participatory planning and implementation of programs while revolving around the lessons learned in the implementation of the Local Government Code and the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act (AFMA) – the framework under which the Philippine extension operate. This material is a good resource for policymakers, local government units, and other extension providers in bringing up a strategy in uplifting the rural economy.
