Österreichs Wirtschaft im Jahr 2006: Konjunkturaufschwung gewinnt an Dynamik

Abstract

Die heimische Wirtschaft wuchs im Jahr 2006 real um 3,2%. Damit wurde die seit dem Jahr 2001 anhaltende Phase verhaltener Konjunktur überwunden. Besonders kräftig expandierte dank der starken Exportnachfrage die Sachgütererzeugung. Die Wertschöpfung überstieg das Vorjahresniveau 2006 real um 7½%. Ausgezeichnete Gewinnlage, hohe Auslastung der Kapazitäten und günstige Absatzerwartungen bewirkten eine Ausweitung der Investitionen in Maschinen, Fahrzeuge und Elektrogeräten. Auch die Bautätigkeit erholte sich nach zwei schwachen Jahren. Dazu trug der Ausbau der Verkehrsinfrastruktur ebenso bei wie die rasche Steigerung der Nachfrage nach Wohnungen. Hingegen blieb die Erholung in den von der Konsumnachfrage der privaten Haushalte abhängigen Wirtschaftsbereichen, vor allem im Handel, gedämpft. Dies spiegelt insbesondere den zurückhaltenden Anstieg der Löhne wider. Die Verbesserung der Wirtschaftslage schlug sich in einer merklichen Zunahme der Beschäftigung nieder, die Zahl der Arbeitslosen ging leicht zurück.
