Wasserressourcen und deren Nutzung im Ili-Balchaš Becken

Abstract

Die vorliegende Untersuchung wurde im Rahmen der Arbeiten zum Forschungsprojekt: "Wasserverknappung, Wassernutzungskonflikte und Wassermanagement in Trockengebieten Zentralasiens (Usbekistan, Kasachstan, Kirgistan, Xinjiang/VR China)" erstellt. Das Ziel des Forschungsprojektes bestand darin, die Ursachen und Auswirkungen der zunehmenden Wasserverknappung und Verschlechterung der Wasserqualität zu untersuchen. Die Untersuchungen wurden vergleichend in vier abflusslosen Be-ckenbereichen vorgenommen: im Aralsee-Becken, Ili- Balchaš-Becken, Issyk-Kul-Becken und Tarim-Becken. Die vorliegende Untersuchung über das Ili-Balchaš-Becken wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Dr. Ž. D. Dostaj vom "Institut für Geographie" der Kasachischen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Almaty erstellt. Sie steht in direkter Verbindung zur Arbeit von Dr. T. Christiansen und U. Schöner, die sich bei ähnlicher Fragestellung mit dem auf chinesischem Territorium liegenden oberen Ili-Tal beschäftigt haben. Über diesen Teil des Ili-Balchaš-Beckens lagen unzureichende Informationen vor, so dass getrennt von der vorliegenden Arbeit eine auf der Auswertung von Satellitenbildern basierende Untersuchung durchgeführt wurde. Sie liegt als Nr. 20 der "Discussion Paper"-Reihe des Zentrums für internationale Entwicklungs- und Umweltforschung (ZEU) der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (2004) vor.
