Der Familienzyklus als Bestimmungsfaktor für das Familieneinkommen und das Arbeitsangebot: Eine Untersuchung für West- und Ostdeutschland auf der Grundlage des Mikrozensus 1995

Abstract

Das Verständnis der Beziehungen zwischen dem Familienzyklus, Familieneinkommen und Arbeitsangebot ist aus einer Reihe von theoretischen und praktischen Gründen heraus von Bedeutung. Von Ökonomen und Demographen sind unterschiedliche Modelle des Zusammenhangs von Familie und Arbeitsmarkt entwickelt worden. Dieser Beitrag konzentriert sich auf ein Familienphasenkonzept, wie es von der Familienwissenschaftlichen Forschungsstelle im Statistischen Landesamt Baden- Württemberg entwickelt wurde, operationalisiert auf der Basis des Mikrozensus 1995. Die Resultate verdeutlichen die Bedeutung einer hohen Beschäftigungsquote von Frauen. Insbesondere in Ostdeutschland (mit einer hohen Beschäftigungsquote) zeigt sich, daß der negative Effekt von Kindern auf die Familieneinkommen deutlich geringer ist. Demgegenüber ist in Westdeutschland die Beschäftigungsquote verheirateter Frauen niedriger und der Anteil von Haushalten mit einem männlichen Alleinverdiener höher. Gleichermaßen für West- und Ostdeutschland gilt, daß speziell junge Familien mit Kindern eine deutliche Schlechterstellung hinnehmen müssen.
