Deutschland AG a. D.: Deutsche Bank, Allianz und das Verflechtungszentrum großer deutscher Unternehmen

Abstract

Der Begriff Deutschland AG dient als Bezeichnung für die enge Personen- und Kapitalverflechtung von deutschen Großunternehmen. Den Managern im Dichtezentrum dieses Verflechtungsnetzwerks wird ein Steuerungspotential zugeschrieben, das weit über die Unternehmens- bzw. Konzerngrenzen hinausreicht. Die Stabilität dieser typischen Eigenschaft der deutschen Wirtschaftsordnung wird u.a. auf das strategische Interesse am Erhalt von komparativen Vorteilen zurückgeführt, die dem deutschen koordinierten Kapitalismus zugeschrieben werden. In den letzten Jahren ist allerdings eine deutliche Reduzierung der Verflechtungsintensität bei deutschen Großunternehmen festzustellen. Anhand der traditionell am stärksten in das Verflechtungsnetzwerk integrierten Unternehmen Deutsche Bank und Allianz wird verdeutlicht, warum diese über extrem lange Zeiträume am Prinzip Deutschland AG festgehalten haben und wieso sie heute von dieser strategischen Orientierung abweichen. Die Fallstudien zeigen, dass die Strategieänderungen bei Deutscher Bank und Allianz auf Grund des Zusammenwirkens von Wettbewerbs- und Internationalisierungseffekten, Steuerrechtsänderungen und unternehmensspezifischen Faktoren möglich wurden.
