Mittelfristprojektion für Deutschland im Frühjahr 2018 - Wachstum lässt nach: Konjunktur kühlt ab

Abstract

Das Wachstum des Produktionspotenzials in Deutschland ist derzeit kräftig, dürfte allerdings im laufenden Jahr mit 1,7 Prozent seinen Zenit erreichen. Im weiteren Verlauf des Projektionszeitraums wird sich das Potenzialwachstum demografisch bedingt kontinuierlich abschwächen. Die tatsächliche Produktion wird voraussichtlich auch in den kommenden Jahren rascher zulegen als das Potenzial. In der Folge dürfte die gesamtwirtschaftliche Überauslastung am Ende des Jahrzehnts ein Ausmaß erreichen wie zuletzt während des Wiedervereinigungs-Booms. Damit nimmt der Gegenwind für die Konjunktur zu. So werden die zunehmenden Kapazitätsengpässe das gesamtwirtschaftliche Expansionstempo mehr und mehr drosseln, und die zyklischen Abwärtskräfte allmählich die Oberhand gewinnen, die sich besonders bei den Investitionen bemerkbar machen. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird sich die konjunkturelle Dynamik in Deutschland im neuen Jahrzehnt wohl abkühlen und der Aufschwung somit zu einem Ende kommen. Mit der steige nden Überauslastung steigt die Fallhöhe für die deutsche Wirtschaft: Je weiter sich die tatsächliche Produktion von ihrem Potenzial entfernt, desto größer wird der Anpassungsbedarf im kommenden Abschwung ausfallen.
