Abstract

Le esigenze di connettivita' di un'organizzazione per l'erogazione di servizi strategici necessitano di una sempre maggiore ampiezza di banda per supportare le nuove richieste applicative, insieme ad un maggior livello di granularita': infatti, la necessita' di banda ad hoc comprende molto piu' della semplice trasmissione dati, richiedendo anche supporto per il traffico video e voce. In questo capitolo viene esaminato un approccio alla costruzione di una rete metropolitana service-driven con un particolare accento sugli aspetti architetturali e di implementazione, oltre ovviamente alle considerazioni sulla complessita' tecnologica.
