Abstract

El presente trabajo comienza revisando los fundamentos de las teorías de demanda de educación como bien de inversión a nivel microeconómico, indicando la metodología y los resultados de algunos de los principales estudios aplicados realizados en España. Dichos estudios se han basado en el análisis de los rendimientos educativos. En nuestro trabajo estudiaremos también, y para el caso español, cuáles son los efectos de la educación y la experiencia laboral en las rentas y salarios individuales. Al objeto de superar el carácter transversal de la mayoría de estudios empíricos, se propone la utilización de matrices de transición, tratando con ello de analizar la movilidad que cada nivel educativo propicia en la escala de rentas o salarios, diferenciando por sexo.
