Accesibilidad y localización industrial. Una aplicación para las Comunidades Autónomas fronterizas con Francia

Abstract

Durante los años 90 se llevó a cabo un intenso programa de construcción de carreteras de alta capacidad en la red viaria española, lo que se tradujo en una sustancial mejora de la accesibilidad de los municipios. El objetivo de este trabajo es determinar si esta mayor accesibilidad ha tenido efectos positivos sobre la localización de establecimientos industriales. En concreto, analizamos dicho fenómeno para el caso de las cuatro Comunidades Autónomas fronterizas con Francia (Aragón, Cataluña, Navarra y el País Vasco). La metodología utilizada incluye técnicas de estadística espacial y modelos de Poisson. Los resultados confirman la importancia de la accesibilidad en la capacidad de atracción de nuevos establecimientos industriales.
