Abstract

Denne rapporten problematiserer hvilken rolle tradisjonell postvirksomhet vil kunne spille i det globale informasjonssamfunnet.Formålet med denne rapporten er: Å beskrive sentrale utviklingstrekk i markedssegmenter for elektronisk informasjonsformidling og deres relevanse for tradisjonell postvirksomhet; og foreta en diskusjon av hvordan overnevnte utvikling kan antas å påvirke postmarkedet generelt og Postverket spesielt fram mot år 2000 (eventuelt med visse perspektiver utover dette).Beskrivelsen og diskusjonen har tatt utgangspunkt i følgende spørsmål: Hvilke konsekvenser synes utviklingen innen elektronisk informasjonsformidling å ha hatt for tradisjonelle posttjenester? Hvordan har postverk i andre land forholdt seg til utfordringer og muligheter som endringer i situasjonen har skapt?
