Qu'est-il advenu de la croissance economique et de la productivite au Canada et aux Etats-Unis a l'ere de l'information?

Abstract

La croissance de la productivite aux Etats-Unis a fortement accelere durant la deuxieme moitie des annees 1990, reprise que les travaux publies ont relie a l'utilisation des technologies de l'information. Dans ce rapport, on contribue au debat sur cette question de deux facons. Premierement, a l'aide des donnees canadiennes et americaines les plus comparables disponibles, on quantifie la contribution des technologies de l'information a la production, a l'intrant capital et a la productivite. Deuxiemement, on examine dans quelle mesure les industries productrices des technologies de l'information et les industries utilisatrices des technologies de l'information ont contribue au redressement de la productivite multifactorielle agregee.
