La croissance de la productivité aux États-Unis a fortement accéléré durant la deuxième moitié des années 1990, reprise que les travaux publiés ont relié à l'utilisation des technologies de l'information. Dans ce rapport, on contribue au débat sur cette question de deux façons. Premièrement, à l'aide des données canadiennes et américaines les plus comparables disponibles, on quantifie la contribution des technologies de l'information à la production, à l'intrant capital et à la productivité. Deuxièmement, on examine dans quelle mesure les industries productrices des technologies de l'information et les industries utilisatrices des technologies de l'information ont contribué au redressement de la productivité multifactorielle agrégée.
