Migration interne des immigrants : les immigrants reagissent-ils aux variations brusques de la demande de main-d'oeuvre regionale?

L'essor economique que connait recemment la province canadienne de l'Alberta offre une occasion ideale de realiser une experience dans des conditions naturelles par l'examen des reactions des immigrants a une forte demande de main-d'oeuvre a l'exterieur des grands centres metropolitains. Le resultat principal de notre etude fondee sur un ensemble unique de donnees tirees a la fois de dossiers administratifs et de dossiers d'immigrants est que non seulement les immigrants ont reagi au recent boom economique en Alberta, mais que leur reaction a aussi ete generalement plus forte que celle des non immigrants. Nous observons, toutefois, une assez grande heterogeneite dans l'ampleur de la reaction d'une region a l'autre et pour differentes categories d'immigrants.
