Nous analysons la mobilité intergénérationnelle du revenu des Canadiens nés de parents immigrants d'après les données du Recensement de 2001. Nous brossons un portrait détaillé de la population canadienne et fournissons des estimations de la mobilité intergénérationnelle chez les enfants d'immigrants originaires de 70 pays différents. Le degré de persistance, estimé au moyen de modèles de régression vers la moyenne, est à peu près le même pour les immigrants que pour l'ensemble de la population, et la mobilité intergénérationnelle chez les immigrants est plus importante au Canada qu'aux États Unis. Nous recourons également à la régression quantile afin de distinguer le rôle du capital social de celui d'autres contraintes limitant la mobilité et constatons que ces contraintes existent et sont associées au niveau de scolarité du père.
