Abstract

Le présent article résume les conclusions de documents de recherche récents de la Division de l'analyse des entreprises et du marché du travail de Statistique Canada portant sur le travail peu rémunéré et les familles économiquement vulnérables. Nous aborderons tout d'abord l'évolution des salaires au Canada de 1981 à 2004, puis nous examinerons de plus près le travail peu rémunéré au cours des deux dernières décennies. Nous tâcherons ensuite de déterminer dans quelle mesure les travailleurs peu rémunérés vivent dans des familles à faible revenu, puis nous nous pencherons sur le recul sur le marché du travail des couples et des immigrants récents à faible niveau de scolarité.
