Abstract

Le thème de la « conciliation » entre vie professionnelle et vie familiale a fait l’objet de multiples travaux, européens et internationaux, comme en témoignent notamment les nombreuses publications de la Commission Européenne et de l’OCDE sur ce sujet. L’expression même ne va pas de soi, tant l’image qui lui est bien souvent accolée est celle de la conciliation du « rôle de mère » et de « travailleuse ». Certes, les statistiques indiquent qu’encore aujourd’hui c’est bien aux femmes, (en tant que mères, grands-mères, filles ou belles-filles), qu’incombe ce numéro d’équilibriste. Mais c’est une chose de constater que les femmes ont cette double vie, c’en est une autre d’affirmer qu’elles sont les seules à pouvoir – et d’autant plus à devoir – le faire. Là est bien toute l’ambiguïté du terme « conciliation », qui peut implicitement être entendu comme les arrangements qui permettent aux femmes de mieux articuler leurs temps. [Premières lignes]
