Abstract

En léger recul par rapport à l’année 2006, la croissance en 2007 est néanmoins restée dynamique à 2,6 % et, pour la première fois depuis 2001, supérieure à celle des États-Unis. Les mauvaises nouvelles, venues à la fois de la déconfiture du système financier mondial, de l’envolée de l’euro et de la résurgence de tensions inflationnistes ont cependant terni les performances économiques des pays de la zone euro au dernier trimestre 2007 et pèseront forcément sur la conjoncture dans les trimestres à venir. Mais la situation ne serait pas aussi dégradée qu’aux États-Unis. La croissance de la zone euro ne ferait alors que retrouver un sentier de croissance (2,0 % en 2008 et 2,2 % en 2009) proche de son potentiel, ne tombant pas dans la dépression mais ne réussissant pas à entretenir le dynamisme qui avait vu le jour en 2006 et 2007.
