Abstract

Le PIB britannique a augmenté de 3,1 % en glissement sur un an au deuxième trimestre 2007, comme au cours des deux trimestres précédents. Cette stabilité tranche avec le ralentissement amorcé aux États-Unis (1,6 % en glissement au deuxième trimestre, après 2,5 % lors des deux trimestres précédents) et dans la zone euro (2,9 % en glissement au deuxième trimestre après 3,5 % lors des deux trimestres précédents). De fait, la croissance britannique a fait preuve d’une stabilité inhabituelle depuis plusieurs années, que ce soit par rapport à celles des grandes économies industrielles et au regard du passé : l’économie britannique est entrée à l’été 2007 dans sa seizième année de croissance consécutive, un record.
