La politique économique du New Labour : un modèle pour l’Europe?

Abstract

Les élections générales britanniques auront lieu le 5 mai 2005. Les travaillistes sont donnés gagnants dans les sondages, mais obtiendraient un score moins élevé qu’en 2001, où ils avaient recueilli 58 % des voix et une écrasante majorité au Parlement (412 sièges sur 659). Les deux autres principaux partis en lice ont gagné du terrain en se démarquant principalement sur des questions de sécurité pour les conservateurs, sur le bienfondé de l’intervention britannique en Irak pour les libérauxdémocrates. Les trois programmes diffèrent peu en terme de politique économique, même si les conservateurs proposent une baisse du taux de prélèvements obligatoires, tandis que les libérauxdémocrates proposent une plus forte taxation des hauts revenus (...).
