Abstract

Il presente lavoro analizza le determinanti dell'attività gratuita per un'associazione di volontariato, un'associazione non di volontariato, un partito politico ed un sindacato, usando dati ufficiali dell'Indagine Multiscopo sulle Famiglie, Aspetti della Vita Quotidiana, dell'Istituto Nazionale di Statistica, anno 1997. Il lavoro, in particolare, investiga se la decisione di offrire attività gratuita mossa da un movente di consumo oppure da un movente d'investimento. L'evidenza empirica rivela che il movente del consumo e quello dell'investimento inducono a offrire attivita gratuita per un'associazione di volontariato. Il movente di consumo spinge gli individui a donare tempo a un'associazione non di volontariato, mentre il movente dell'investimento invoglia le persone a offrire gratuitamente tempo a un partito politico e sindacato.
