AbstractThe main objective of the paper is to highlight the characteristics of knowledge-based systems and to present the concept „community of practice” in the context of knowledge-based economy. The paper addresses the new trends and challenges of knowledge dynamics within communities of practice and examines the emergence of this type of communities.
