Abstract

In order to focus on their basic activity, principals have developed the concept of progress contracts. To meet this objective, maintenance subcontractors have to evaluate their stock of skills and their abilities to fulfil the principals expectations. The goal of this report is threefold. We will determine first, the potential skills, second, the major problems by which the maintenance subcontractors are confronted, and third conceivable solutions. Analysis of sample survey data, reveals a real shortage of skilled labour in maintenance domain. This labour shortage is principally due to the fact that the training is not suitable with the companies needs, and the maintenance domain is suffering from its impossibility to attract young people.
