Abstract

The entrepreneur is a main theoretical issue. J. A. Schumpeter defines the entrepreneur as the economic agent who achieves new combinations of production factors. The entrepreneur is defined by the innovative action. We consider the Schumpeterian theory of entrepreneur as a metaphor: the Schumpeterian entrepreneur is useful to explain phenomena such as economic growth, crisis, and technical progress. In a managerial economy, the use of the metaphor is impossible. The entrepreneur as a more pragmatic role, he becomes the saver of capitalism thank to his function of jobs creation
