Abstract

The relations between Europe and the countries bordering the South Coast of the Meditarranean Sea constitute a good subject of thinking and of prospective on economic development and globalization. All economic prospective needs an assessment of the situation which may open a new kind of cooperation between the South and North Coasts of the Mediterranean Sea. Today, a widening of the existing agreements is needed, including the human and cultural dimensions. As a matter of fact, the only « economicist » approach which leads to this kind of partnerships cannot be considered anymore as a pertinent answer to the problems of societies, to environmental problems and to economic enigma. All of this can be interpreted as follows: the advancement of the economist approach needs a radical criticism, taking account of the other social sciences. In this framework, new interdieciplinary and intercultural developements - in terms of interpretation and of action - may occur in a close future.
