Abstract

La presentación constituye una reflexión teórico-metodológica sobre la posible contribución de la sociología económica a los estudios sobre migración internacio-nal. Si bien son diversas las investigaciones en donde los especialistas recurren a algunos de los conceptos básicos de esta rama de la sociología para explicar el fenómeno de la migración internacional, en este artículo se realiza el ejercicio in-verso, es decir, se parte de la sociología económica para pensar libremente desde afuera la forma en que ciertas categorías podrían resultar de utilidad en la perma-nente tarea de construir el andamiaje teórico que explica este fenómeno social.
