Abstract

In this paper it is made a study of the economy relations among the regions of Ceará, Rest of Northeast and Rest of Brazil for the year of 1999. To do so, an interregional input-output system of constructed for this year. Through the use of this interregional system it was possible: a) to identify the key sectors in these economies, using the Hirschman/Rasmussen backward and forward linkages as well as the Pure Linkages approach; and b) to estimate the multipliers effects of the final demand over income and employment. The results highlight the main differences among the productive structures of the regions, calling for specific development policies for each of the regions being considere here.
