Politiques communautaires de soutien au short sea shipping (SSS)

Abstract

Cet article traite du transport maritime a courte distance ou Short-Sea Shipping (SSS) et de sa capacite a reequilibrer le systeme des transports europeens. Apres une description du role joue' par les couts relatifs et par les usages commerciaux dans les choix alternatifs des modes de transport par les entreprises du secteur, on enumerera les politiques que la Communaute' Europeenne pourrait promouvoir pour le soutien du SSS. On conclut en soulignant le besoin d'une planification rigoureuse dans la sequence des interventions et dans la vitesse de temps de leur execution. Des exemples se rapportent a la Mediterranee.
