La gestion des catastrophes naturelles et les équipements éducatifs

Abstract

Plus de 80 personnes – des sismologues, des architectes, des ingénieurs et des fonctionnaires – originaires d’une douzaine de pays se sont réunis pour examiner les différentes relations qui peuvent s’établir entre les équipements éducatifs et les catastrophes naturelles ; deux aspects ont été privilégiés : les effets et les conséquences des tremblements de terre et la bonne conception et utilisation des bâtiments éducatifs, que leur fonction soit de protéger leurs usagers chaque jour ou de servir d’abri de secours aux éventuels survivants d’un séisme. L’article suivant synthétise les conclusions qui se sont dégagées sur les thèmes suivants : les bâtiments éducatifs ; les partenariats ; la formation ; les normes, les réglementations et les procédures ; le financement et la législation ; enfin la recherche et le soutien.
