Abstract

School Works, une entreprise britannique sans but lucratif, a mis au point un processus de conception d’école secondaire qui permet aux collectivités de créer des bâtiments scolaires exclusifs qui répondent à leurs besoins particuliers. Ce processus repose sur un principe fondamental : ce sont les personnes qui travaillent et qui s’instruisent chaque jour dans un bâtiment scolaire qui en comprennent l’esprit, les exigences, les points forts et les faiblesses ; c’est en mobilisant réellement l’adhésion de la communauté scolaire que l’on fait naître un sens profond de propriété et de respect vis-à-vis du bâtiment. School Works a mis en pratique son processus de participation dans une école du centre de Londres.
