Abstract

Au cours des cinq dernières années, la plupart des pays d’Amérique latine ont accompli des avancées considérables dans la gestion de la composition de leur dette publique tout en réduisant leur exposition aux devises. Les émissions de titres d’emprunt publics en monnaie locale ne sont pas chose nouvelle dans cette région, mais les émissions en monnaie locale vers l’extérieur sont, elles, récentes. Il y a cinq ans, la dette souveraine extérieure de l’Amérique latine était libellée en devises ; aujourd’hui, la moitié de la dette de pays comme le Brésil, la Colombie, le Pérou et l’Uruguay l’est en monnaie locale.
