Les banques contribuent non seulement au développement économique des pays émergents mais aussi, plus singulièrement, à leur développement politique. En particulier, lorsqu’un pays en développement expérimente une transition démocratique, les flux bancaires internationaux tendent à augmenter dans les trois années qui suivent la démocratisation.
