Abstract

La pregunta principal que origina la investigación se refiere a ¿cuáles son las condiciones que hacen posible una mayor contribución de la actividad turística a los procesos de desarrollo económico local? En forma complementaria, y a la luz de la variedad de conceptos que se utilizan para analizar la estructura productiva local y los factores de competitividad territorial, surge un interrogante respecto de la utilidad del concepto de cluster para analizar los destinos turísticos objeto de la investigación. Un primer recorte del tema implica considerar destinos turísticos consolidados, excluyendo de este análisis las tipologías de destinos potenciales e incipientes. Para dar una respuesta tentativa a estos interrogantes, se parte de la consideración de la teoría de desarrollo económico local y se propone un modelo de análisis sistémico de los actores que intervienen en la actividad turística. Este modelo aporta un marco general para el análisis del concepto de cluster turístico y la consideración de las variables relevantes.
