Apports et limites des programmes de recherche aux sciences de gestion

Abstract

Dans cet article, nous étudions la méthodologie des programmes de recherche de Lakatos (1978) et ses apports aux sciences sociales et en particulier à la recherche en gestion. Notre objectif est triple. Il s'agit d’abord de préciser la nature des programmes de recherche, de les critiquer et de les situer par rapport aux thèses défendues par Popper, Feyerabend et Kuhn. Par ailleurs, nous étudions la transférabilité de la méthodologie de Lakatos aux sciences sociales. Enfin, nous analysons l’intérêt des programmes de recherche pour l’épistémologie de la recherche en gestion. L'esprit de la méthodologie (refus de condamner un programme de recherche dégénératif, acceptation de noyaux durs métaphysiques, acceptation et revendication de la pluralité des courants de recherche, …), plus que sa description par Lakatos, nous semble important pour la recherche en gestion. De plus, nous suggérons quelques adaptations au schéma théorique de Lakatos pour tenir compte des spécificités des sciences sociales (redéfinition de l’heuristique positive, programmes de recherche complémentaires).
