Des difficultés de test de la théorie des coûts de transaction et des précautions à prendre

    Abstract

    Alors que la théorie des coûts de transaction a fait l’objet de multiples critiques relatives tant au paramétrage qu’elle met en place, qu’à certaines opérationnalisations retenues, cet article a pour objectif de présenter les risques méthodologiques liés à sa « staticité ». Il s’agit plus précisément de démontrer les dangers que rencontre tout chercheur se confrontant au test de la théorie des coûts de transaction, dès lors qu’il ne prend pas en compte le problème de « temporalité » dans son protocole de recherche. Pour une meilleure représentation de cette limite, la démonstration s’appuiera sur le cas concret d’une recherche testant le degré de réalisation des prédictions de la théorie des coûts de transaction dans le cadre du secteur avicole français. Les éclairages issus de ce cas montreront dans quelle mesure le test de la TCT dans son optique « positive » peut entraîner certaines confusions. Nous proposerons ensuite des solutions permettant de les contourner.
