Abstract

En este trabajo se describe la evolución y principales características de la inmigración en España durante la última década, y se proporciona un esquema conceptual que permita interpretar el fenómeno de la inmigración desde el punto de vista de la teoría económica. En concreto se analizan los determinantes de la decisión de emigrar y de las características de los trabajadores que deciden hacerlo dentro del marco conceptual de la teoría del capital humano. También se estudia cuál es el impacto de dicha decisión en el mercado laboral del país receptor y se ofrece evidencias empiricas al respecto.
